Nothing but the fondest memories of you. What a wonderful time we had.
Who will I share the knowing smiles with? My tears will never cease, because I miss you so much!
Continue to be at rest. Continue to be at peace. I will continue to love and miss you!!!!!
A piece of me is with you forever!!!!

My Dear Daddy, A Magestic and Inspiring Father |
February 20, 2017 |
Dear daddy, day two of you laying in rest. I still can't believe you are gone. I look at your pictures with wide smiles on your face and all I can do is shake my head in disbelief. I know you are resting in peace and I contiune to pray that the good Lord welcomes you into his Heavenly Kingdom. Well daddy I just wanted to say hi and that I am thinking of you and praying for you. Please do the same for me. I love you daddy and I continue to miss you deeply.

Daddy, it is hard to believe that you are not with us anymore. Really hard, but what can I say? Only recently we were discussing about buying you a car when you last visited the US. My friends and I sent you several pictures of different models and were all happy to assist. Last September we discussed about me joining PESH, and you followed up as soon as you traveled to Cameroon. Now, I am a member, thanks to you. There is much history about our families because my Dad (God rest his soul) and you were classmates in Sasse – “Members of the World”. I remember your class meetings at home, and all the fun jokes and stories you all used to share. I admired you guys, I admired your accomplishments and cherished being a Soban too. After high school I was trying to figure out where to go next. Last minute I got accepted at a university in Nigeria but because of the short notice I was worried I would not be able to get a passport. After going back and forth with my Dad, I decided to walk to your office. First I went to the passport office but no luck. I was told it would take up to 3 months, which I did not have because school was resuming in a week! So I marched up to your office and within half an hour, I walked out with my passport!!!!! Daddy because of you, and despite time against me, I was able to get to Nigeria within a week! …..Years later, I walked into you house again and you exclaimed, “Nukechap’s son is married to my daughter!! God is great!” May you rest in the bosom of the Lord until we meet to part no more.

Missing you!!! |
February 10, 2017 |
It is still unfathomable that you are gone. I am still grappling with my new reality. Life without you!!
I always knew you were away safe where I could always find you, to share jokes, seek advice, chat and laugh. To wake up one fine morning to the words "daddy is gone," totally shoke me to my core.
I am working my way back to reality. In the meantime I just stopped in to say that I knew no love like yours, and I miss you more than I thought possible.
Pa Patcha was family. I met Pa for the first time in Limbe when our families ; the Azanes and the Patchas decided to become one through marraige.Pa ,as from the first impression was a nice, simple and easy going man. You could tell he was a proud father and grand father by the way he spoke about his children and even of the many kids who were living with him.Pa was a great religious person, a great practising Roman Catholic christian. During our stay in Limbe at his Bota residence, in the morning before young people like us woke up from sleep, Pa and the wife were already returning from morning devotion. It was a routine and this was quite inspiring .I can say he lived a life that was full of pride, joy, and happiness. Anyone who knew him knows of his generosity, work ethic, humility and selflessness. He demonstrated these traits again and again and I owe him much. In 2007, I got an admission to study for a master programme in Sweden but my plans were almost jeopardised because of the lack of funds and/or the necessary bank statement that would have helped me obtain a study visa. After going around trying to find a benefactor, destiny took me again to Limbe, to Pa Patcha. He was the one who made the necessary financial arrangements that helped me got a student visa. Since then I have been in Europe, have studied and formed a family. But everytime I look back, I think all these would not have been possible without his timely intervention . For that I owe him much. Every time he was in the US,he never failed to send greetings. Pa will be missed dearly. I hope to someday become half the man he was. People like him are one in a million.Albert Einstein once said, “Our death is not an end if we can live on in our children and the younger generation. For they are us, our bodies are only wilted leaves on the tree of life.” So let us celebrate Pa’s life and continue his legacy. Thank you Pa Patcha, for everything, thank you . We will always find solace in the good memories you left behind . We miss you. Rest in peace perfect .
Vitus Azane and family.
